Accelerate teams participated in several events throughout Boston during HUBweek in September, including Beantown Throwdown, an annual pitch competition between 12 Boston area colleges. Each institute sends a startup to represent the school and pitch for over $20,000 worth of in-kind services. In the past two years, Wentworth has sent Gentoo (Ben Nadeau, BELM ’13 and Greg Affsa, BIND ’15), who finished third in 2014, and BARS (Jace Valls, BBME ’17, Luis Mata, BBME ’17, and Adam Zapotok, BIND ’17), who finished second in 2015.
Loan Vu, BSM ’05, chose to participate in Wentworth’s online master’s degree program through the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) due to its convenience and educational value. Vu also credits Wentworth’s “small school feel with an enormous alumni network,” as reasons to pursue the degree. Vu additionally won CPCE’s outstanding graduate award this year.
