Presidential Transition Update May 24, 2018

Brief Update on the Presidential Transition and Search Process

Dear Members of the Wentworth Community:

As the Chair of the Board and on behalf of the Presidential Transition Committee, I am providing you with another brief update since my last message on May 2. The committee submitted its draft charter to the Board of Trustees for its review, input, and approval at its May 10 meeting. The Board voted to approve the committee’s charter. I share the approved Presidential Transition Committee charter at this link: Presidential Transition Committee Charter.

Additionally, the Transition Committee has prepared a streamlined presidential search timeline noting specific milestones during the search process. It is anticipated that this document will be updated regularly. The timeline is at this link: Timeline. Both the charter and the timeline have been posted at wit.edu/presidential-transition.

The Transition Committee is currently developing a draft charter for the Presidential Search Committee that it will present to the Board at a special meeting of the Board scheduled on June 14. Additionally, at this June meeting, the Board plans to assess Wentworth’s current status and future in planning for the selection of a new president as well as review and approve an Institute Bridge Plan that the Transition Committee has charged the vice presidents to develop identifying key strategies to focus on in the next year.

I look forward to providing another update following the June 14 Board meeting.

Sincerely,
P. Michael Masterson
Chair of the Wentworth Board of Trustees
