Recent University Investments
Over the past 13-plus years under the current president’s leadership, Wentworth has invested more than $300 million in facility renovations and expansion including: the High-Tech Highway laboratory renovations (beginning with the industry-leading Manufacturing Center); the Altschuler Computer Center; and the Gelfand Strength of Materials Lab; two new state-of-the art residence halls; and the Douglas D. Schumann Library & Learning Commons.
In November 2018 a ribbon cutting was held for the opening of a new $55 million Center for Engineering, Innovation and Sciences—Wentworth’s first new academic building in 45 years.
During the past decade, Wentworth also built a department of Information Services that had previously been outsourced, bringing in a CIO-level position to its Presidential Advisory Council, the president’s senior leadership team. Additionally, philanthropic support and the endowment have grown, generating a combined $78 million over the past 13 years.
The entire Wentworth community is engaged and excited about bringing in a new president who can build on the institution’s success and recent growth while navigating a challenging and rapidly changing marketplace.
