The Massachusetts Building Congress (MBC) Women’s Network, in conjunction with Wentworth Institute of Technology, hosted their “Making Connections” event at Wentworth on Nov. 12.
Students and women professionals had an opportunity to network within Watson Auditorium under the theme of women in industry helping students advance their careers. Guests took part in career development roundtables and “speed networking” sessions.
Lizetta Fennessy, vice president/market segment leader for Haley & Aldrich, was the keynote speaker. Fennessy spoke about how to develop a career in architecture, engineering, and construction.
Nikisa Alborz, chair of the Department of Engineering at Wentworth, offered welcoming remarks.
“As a female engineer I think it is critical we have strong, positive female role models who motivate us to achieve our full potential and reach for beyond what we think we are capable of,” said Alborz.
