Wall Street Journal Survey Places Wentworth Among Top Schools for Career Prep

Wentworth Institute of Technology is a top school in the Northeast for career preparation, according to a survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education that was released on Dec. 8.

The survey placed Wentworth #3 on the list of top colleges and universities in the region for career preparation. Other schools in the top 10 in the category include Bentley University (#4), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (#8), and Babson College (#9). Northeastern University was first, followed by SUNY Maritime College in New York and Wentworth.

Earlier in 2016, the Journal and Times Higher Education released overall college rankings that “place a heavy weight” on student outcomes, including the educational debt they accrue and the salaries graduates earn. Wentworth was placed at 478 in the top 500 for that list. For college “outcomes,” the Institute earned a spot at #284.

For the career preparation rankings, which are calculated separately, the Journal and Times Higher Education conducted a survey in which students were asked to rate on a scale of zero to 10 how strongly they felt their school was getting them ready to enter the jobs marketplace.
