Monster Chief to Give August Commencement Address

Mark Stoever, PMW '97, president and chief operating officer of Monster Worldwide, will deliver the keynote remarks at Wentworth’s Summer 2016 Commencement on August 21.

“I’m very much looking forward to addressing the graduating students,” says Stoever. “I hope to share insights from my unique position of helping to lead Monster—from putting their best foot forward in today’s job market, to what it means to hire, and how vital it is to do that right.”

He said his remarks will focus on the graduates as tomorrow's workers, and as future employers and hiring managers as well.

Stoever oversees Monster's business operations including sales, marketing, customer service, and product and technology organizations. Before he was named chief operating officer in November 2014, Stoever held several leadership positions at Monster, including executive vice president of corporate development and Internet advertising, as well as executive vice president of corporate development and strategic alliances. He has overseen internet advertising and fees since July 2005.

Prior to joining Monster, Stoever served as president and chief executive officer of Lycos, Inc., the early dot-com search engine and web portal that became one of the most visited online destinations in the world.

Stoever serves on the board of directors for the Massachusetts High Technology Council. In addition to his Wentworth degree, he holds a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University.

Monster is a global online employment solution for job seekers and employers. In its 20-year history, Monster has expanded from its roots as a "job board" to a global provider of job seeking, career management, recruitment, and talent management products and services.
