COLLEGE THINK TANK BOSTON, now in its second iteration, is an innovative one-day event founded and launched by the City of Boston’s Office for Business Development and Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Accelerate. It brings together Boston’s college students, design professionals, city representatives, and community partners from different backgrounds and disciplines to work on a real challenge the city faces. This event’s challenge is focused on small businesses: how to mobilize people and relationships to support small business needs for accessing capital while creating a sustainable model or funding channel.
The event presents an opportunity to foster a stronger and more collaborative student community, showcase Boston’s students, and expand and enhance the learning experience beyond campus boundaries. The ideas coming out of this event have the potential to be further supported by the City of Boston’s Office of Business Development and become real initiatives.
The first COLLEGE THINK TANK BOSTON took place in June with 100 students participating from 19 colleges across Boston.
Collaboration partners include AIGA, Design Museum Boston, ePowerhouse, Essential Design, IDEO, Imaginatik, IXL Center, i2i experience, and MassInno.
