Ron Burton Training Village STEM Day Highlights

Last month, Wentworth Institute of Technology welcomed Ron Burton Training Village students to campus for a STEM Day event. Students participated in rotating sessions getting the opportunity to explore topics in math and data science, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and the design process. 

‘Designing for Life’ Exhibition Opens Next Week

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s CEIS Commons will host the opening of the “Designing for Life: Fragile Ecologies” exhibition on Thursday, March 30 at 6 p.m. The exhibition—free and open to the public—will remain on display until September 15, giving visitors ample time to explore the work of the School of Architecture and Design.

Colleges of the Fenway Hosts 25th Annual MLK Breakfast

The Colleges of the Fenway (COF) hosted its 25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Wentworth Institute of Technology on January 31, 2023.

Student Developing Innovative System of Electric Vehicles

Wentworth Institute of Technology student Paul Miller is working on an electric motor and battery that has the potential to be a game changer for anyone who rides a scooter, skateboard, or bike.

Miller's journey began two years ago when he built an electric bike as a side project.  

RE-CONNECTING: New Tradition Formed with Alumni Day

Under a brilliant May sun, a trio of young alumni tossed around a bean bag on the Quad, relaxing and sharing stories in proximity to a futuristic glass structure, new since their time as students.

“I had never seen this building before,” said Christopher Montero ’18 of the Center for Engineering, Innovation and Sciences (CEIS). “It’s amazing, and it’s part of the recent changes that I wanted to find on campus.”

Wentworth donors and leadership came together this summer for a special dinner event in the private William I. Koch Gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

Warming Up

Alumni and friends were excited to meet in person this past winter at the Port Royal Club in Naples, Florida, for dinner and to hear an update on plans for Wentworth in the new year. President Thompson, Board Chair Greg Janey, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement and External Relations Crate Herbert all spoke to the group, while Trustee Emeriti and alum Douglas Schumann AM ’64, Hon. ’08 served as host of the event.

Re-Fresh: Updated Branding

Approximately two years ago, Wentworth overhauled its branding and debuted new taglines. As our Marketing and Communications department reflected on the results of that work, we knew changes could be made.

In the spring, Wentworth’s Marketing and Communications team updated assets and guidelines to refresh the university’s branding and visual identity.

New banners were one of the first ways this refresh was represented on campus, featuring some of the talented people that make up our community and meant to create a more consistent look and feel.

WBUR: Early College Expansion at Boston's Fenway High School

Fenway High is an "early college high school" where students can simultaneously earn high school credit and up to two years of college credit at UMass Boston and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
