Q&A: Zack Benesh on Being One of Wentworth’s Inaugural Applied Sciences Graduates

On August 20, Zack Benesh will take the stage at Wentworth Institute of Technology’s 2:30 p.m. Summer Commencement ceremony as featured student speaker. He will no doubt share an inspiring message with his fellow graduates, but he will also do it as a first of his kind at the university. 

Wentworth Awarded $225,000 Grant from Cummings Foundation

Wentworth Institute of Technology is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a grant recipient by the prestigious Cummings Foundation. The grant, totaling $225,000, will be provided over a three-year period, with an annual award of $75,000. This marks the second grant awarded to Wentworth by the foundation, following a successful $100,000 grant received in 2020 through the foundation's $100K for 100 Program.

John Cribbs Named School of Management Dean

John Cribbs has been appointed the new dean of the School of Management. 

Cribbs is currently serving as the associate dean of the School of Management and is also an associate professor of Construction Management. 

Students Tour Historic Gibson House in Boston during Pride Month

The School of Science and Humanities Dean's Office sponsored trips this month for students in Professor Ella Howard's Boston History classes to study LGBTQIA+ history at the Gibson House, a historic house museum on Beacon Street.  

Wentworth Alum Named ‘Rising Star’ by New England Real Estate Journal

Jovanny Lamisere, a 2018 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, has been named a "Rising Star" by the New England Real Estate Journal (NEREJ). Lamisere is currently a senior assistant project manager at Lee Kennedy Company, where he has worked for five years. He is also a local Boston resident. 

Professor Monaghan’s ‘Daughter of Rubens’ Accepted into Provincetown Film Festival

The short documentary "Daughter of Rubens," produced by Wentworth Institute of Technology Professor Gloria Monaghan, has been accepted into the prestigious Provincetown Film Festival. The film focuses on the life and work of artist Nancy Ellen Craig, who resided in Truro, Mass.

Wentworth Institute of Technology student Andrew Hogan has developed a path planning program that can be used to simulate the movement of search and rescue robots in hazardous environments. The program, which is based on a visibility graph, can be used to generate safe and efficient paths for robots to follow in areas with static and dynamic obstacles.
