Inspired by controversies around natural hair, Manny Chalumeau ’22 and a group of friends started Krown, a shopping site for natural hair products. It’s also a cultural hub that encourages Black women and men to artfully celebrate their “Krowns.” Manny sees Wentworth as a basecamp for Boston. In addition to the ample support he’s found at Wentworth’s Accelerate incubator, he’s very plugged into the greater Boston community. “You have the benefit of big and small at Wentworth, an intimate school set in a big city where a lot is happening. It’s the best of all worlds.”
