 The department recognized the following senior students for their outstanding Senior Projects.

Design New England Magazine & Boston Design Center Design Showdown 2017

 Mikaela Baldy, Leah Caputo, and Jenna Minto, all Interior Design Class of ’19, were finalists in this year’s “Design Showdown” student design competition. Students presented their designs for a live-work space.

2016

Design New England Magazine & Boston Design Center Design Showdown 2016

Blake Swanson, Interior Design Class of '18, won the “People’s Choice” award at this year’s Design Showdown for her live-work space project. Blake’s project incorporated a retail space on one floor and a residence on the second, using yoga as a central theme, informing her design choices.

Best Interior Design Directed Studies Project

This year, two seniors were recognized for their hard work, winning the “Best Directed Project”. Karsyn Sawyer and Tyler Som-Dubreuil senior thesis projects exemplified the best of the interior design education.

2015

International Interior Design Association NE Fashion Show  2015
The WIT Interior Design Fashion Team won “Best School Entry” at this year’s fashion show “SENSEATION”. This is the first win for the student group

American Society of Interior Designers NE, Excellence in Design Competition 2015
Amanda Waryasz, Interior Design Class of '17, won the “Design Excellence Award”, Student Hospitality Design category for her restaurant project.

Design New England Magazine 2015
Prof. Rachel Pike was awarded “Mentor of the Year” by Design New England Magazine

Design New England Magazine & Boston Design Center Design Showdown 2015
Amanda Waryasz, Interior Design Class of '17, won First Place at Design New England magazine’s first annual "Design Showdown" student design competition. In the competition students designed a live work space and presented their work in a “shark-tank” style presentation. Five WIT sophomores made it into the final round. Amanda took first prize overall besting graduate students and undergrads from at least four other Boston area Interior Design programs

International Interior Design Association NE Design Awards 2015
Mallory Hudak, Interior Design Class of '15, was the First Place winner for “Best Undergraduate Student Design” for her corporate office project at IIDA NE’s Annual Awards

International Interior Design Association NE Student Portfolio Day 2014
Mallory Hudak, Interior Design Class of ’15, has been awarded First Place in this year’s International Interior Design Association, New England Student Portfolio Day on held April 11, 2014. Molly Randell, Class of '14 tied for Second Place.

2013

International Interior Design Association NE Student Portfolio Day 2013
Amanda Vicari, Interior Design Class of ’13, has been awarded First Place in this year’s International Interior Design Association, New England Student Portfolio Day on held April 5, 2013. Amanda's portfolio included work from the office project that she completed while participating in the Interior Design Study Abroad Program in Berlin, Germany last summer.
As well as receiving recognition from area professionals, First Place winners were awarded a cash prize and a copy of the book Eero Saarinen: Furniture for Everyone by Brian Lutz.

2012

Interior Design Career Day Student Competition
Kingsley Catalucci, Interior Design Class of ’14, has been awarded First Place in this year’s Interior Design Career Day Student Design Competition for her Adidas Corporate Office Lobby project. This project requires students to create a space that functions as a busy lobby area and reflects the corporate identity of a specific brand. Kingsley was inspired by the triangular 3-strip Adidas logo and incorporated it into the architectural details of the space.

Kingsley is the third Wentworth student in a row to be awarded First Place in this regional competition.

Boston Society of Architects Student Design Showcase Competition
Vivian Morato and Jessica Griffin, both BINT Class of '12, were two of twenty-four students awarded by the BSA's Membership Enrichment Committee for the second annual Student Design Showcase. Their winning submissions will be on display at the BSA Student Design Showcase event on Thursday, September 27th and the BSA Space.

International Interior Design Association Student Competition
Annmarie Gasperini, BINT '12, won first place in this year's International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Providence City Center Student Award. This is the third year running that a Wentworth Interior Design student has won first place. Drew Bortles, BINT '12, and Jessica Griffin, BINT '12, won second and third place respectively.

2011

Interior Design Career Day Student Competition
Annmarie Gasperini, BINT '12, won first place in the Student Design Competition at the 2011 Interior Design Career Day, organized by the New England chapters of the International Interior Design Association and the American Society of Interior Designers on October 7, 2011. Annmarie submitted her office design project from the summer Junior Interior Design studio.

Megan Dobstaff & Olena Ivanina, two Junior-level students were the only recipients of ‘student’ awards in this professional awards event.

Natasha Tashian & Nathan Reynolds, both Junior-level students, were awarded first and second place in this national competition
