Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering

The Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering is home to the Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering (BELM) program, the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSEN) program, and the Biological Engineering Program (BSBE.) These programs are unique in their emphasis on student participation across different disciplines. BELM students graduate the five year program with a solid background in both electrical and mechanical engineering. BSEN students select an area of engineering concentration along with coursework in another discipline of interest (Minor/Directed Studies). Biological Engineering (BSBE) is taught jointly with faculty from engineering and sciences. BSEN, BELM, and BSBE programs allow students the opportunity to study abroad.
