M.S. Physical Chemistry, University of North Texas
Kate Kerr is the laboratory technician responsible for the chemistry labs in the Department of Sciences. Her graduate research was studying kinetics of radical reactions in the gas phase.
Kate Kerr has a passion for finding ways to show others what a powerful tool chemistry is for understanding the universe around us. As a trained physical chemist she particularly enjoys spectroscopy and calorimetry with the department instruments. She is also an amateur baking enthusiast and uses her chemistry knowledge to improve her baking and the kitchen experience to inspire laboratory exploration.
In collaboration with faculty and students she works on the biodiesel reactor in the Blaisdell Biodiesel Laboratory, and has a keen interest in exploring energy solutions for the post-fossil fuel world.
