March 26, 2020: Update on Summer 2020 Semester
TO: Students, Faculty and Staff
I write to share with you that there will be a Summer 2020 semester to ensure that students continue to make progress toward their various program requirements.
The decision that needs to be made is whether we will deliver coursework in a traditional mode on campus or if courses will be delivered remotely. Wentworth will make and communicate its decision on or about Friday, April 10, 2020. This date is approximately four weeks prior to the start of the summer session on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. This planned timeframe will allow us to continue to consult with our infectious disease experts and make an informed decision. I assure you that this decision will first and foremost take into account the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff. This timeline will provide sufficient time for the planning and implementation around our final decision. Until a decision is reached, please know that our staff is working hard to prepare our campus buildings and residence halls to welcome back our campus community when we are able to proceed with a traditional mode on campus.
As a reminder to students and families, we have extended the tuition payment due date for the summer session from April 9 to Thursday, April 23, 2020 to assist our students and their families.
I know that the current situation has created challenges for everyone. I am thankful to our faculty and staff who have come together to ensure that our students’ needs are met during this challenging time. I am thankful to our students for your understanding and patience as we do our best to support you during this unprecedented time. It is my sincere hope that all of you and your families are well.
