COVID-19: Commencement & Events
Effective immediately through April 30, 2020, to limit the opportunity for virus transmission, Wentworth is cancelling all events. Event organizers are encouraged to seek ways to conduct events and meetings virtually whenever possible.
We are still evaluating options relative to Commencement and will communicate those plans as soon as they are available.
On March 15, Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker issued a statewide ban on gatherings over 25 people. Given the public health concerns of public gathering the size of the April Commencement, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the April 25, 2020 commencement ceremonies until August 15, 2020. We are providing this information to the April 2020 graduates now so that graduates and their families and friends have ample time to adjust their commencement plans. More details about the postponed commencement ceremony will be forthcoming. We understand the importance of commencement and want to ensure we preserve this important ceremony for our graduates.
Virtual Job Fair
Network with and meet your next co-op or full-time employer through the Virtual CO-OP + CAREER Fair on March 31 between 3-6PM. RSVP and attend on WITworks.
With the health and safety of our student-athletes in mind, the college presidents of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) have cancelled all athletic competition for the spring season.
To safeguard the health and wellbeing of the university community, we will suspend all non-essential university-sponsored travel—both international and domestic. In select cases where in-person participation remains vital, decisions to approve air travel will be determined by your vice president or the provost, with input from Wentworth’s Covid-19 Task Force.
Anyone currently on Wentworth-sponsored travel may continue that travel and return as originally scheduled or explore an earlier return.
Faculty and staff with questions about this change should consult with their supervisor; students should contact the Center for Student Engagement at 617-989-4080.
