COVID-19: Commencement & Events
To limit the opportunity for virus transmission, Wentworth canceled all events beginning in mid-March. Event organizers are encouraged to seek ways to conduct events and meetings virtually whenever possible.
On May 21, President Mark A. Thompson announced his commitment to holding an in-person Commencement Ceremony for spring and summer 2020 graduates—on a date to be determined, when it is safe for the community to gather. In the meantime, President Thompson said the accomplishments of the Institute’s graduates deserve to be recognized sooner rather than later. So, Wentworth is planning to host a virtual celebration for all members of the Class of 2020 on August 16, with details to be announced as soon as they are finalized. With the health and safety of our student-athletes in mind, the college presidents of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) canceled all athletic competition for the spring season.
To safeguard the health and wellbeing of the university community, all non-essential university sponsored travel has been suspended—both international and domestic. In select cases where in-person participation remains vital, decisions to approve air travel will be determined by your vice president or the provost.
