Mail and Packages

Incoming mail and packages for faculty and staff should be addressed accordingly:

Wentworth Institute of Technology
550 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02115

It is important that all incoming packages include the recipient's name on the address so that Mail Services can ensure that delivery goes to the appropriate staff or faculty recipient.

Please keep in mind that, per recommendation by the USPS, the services provided by the Mail Center are not for "personal" use.

We strongly urge employees not to ship personal items to the Institute. Wentworth employees (faculty, staff, etc.) who do ship "personal" packages to the Mail Center will receive a package notification email or phone call requiring them to pick the package up from the Mail Center. Mail Services will not deliver "personal" packages under any exception. Any "personal" packages that are not picked up after five business days will be returned to sender.

Secure Printing

Secure Printing allows you to print a document to the copier, but not have it actually be printed until you “release” it at the copier.  This can be useful when printing documents with confidential or sensitive information that you do not want left sitting at the copier or if the copier is not in close proximity to your office or workspace.

It is important that mail be addressed properly in order to prevent loss or delivery delays. Please help us to deliver your mail by giving the following addresses to family and friends.

Mailing Addresses for Students in Residence Halls

Every student in the residence halls is issued their own mail stop (MS) to receive mail. Please use the following format for your mailing address:

(Student’s name) MS_______
Wentworth Institute of Technology
550 Huntington AV
Boston, MA 02115-5998

John Doe MS 1234
Wentworth Institute of Technology
550 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA 02115-5998

If your student is in Evans Way, Tudbury, 68 Louis Prang, or Baker Hall, please use this address:

(Student's Name) MS 8000
Wentworth Institute of Technology
550 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA 02115-5998

Please DO NOT use your residence hall or your room number in your mailing address.

If you receive a package, you will be notified via email that it is waiting for you. To pick up an item, follow the instructions in the email and take your validated Fenway Card to the appropriate Student Mailroom or to the school switchboard in Wentworth Hall, 1st floor. Packages will be given only to the student to whom they are addressed unless other arrangements are made. Unclaimed packages are subject to being returned to the sender after five (5) days unless other arrangements are made.

When mailing a gift card, the Post Office recommends sending it in a bubble wrap envelope, these are sorted by a separate system. It may cost you a little more, but you’ll have peace of mind. USPS says each year they shred two bins of lost gift cards because the gift cards get caught up in the sorting process and end up on the floor.

Student Change of Address/Mail Forwarding

At the conclusion of the academic year, on-campus students will be required to fill out a Mail Forwarding form online with information regarding where their mail should be sent during summer break. If a student does not fill out a form, any mail received will be returned to sender. Foreign students should provide a U.S. address if they'd like their mail forwarded, since it cannot be forwarded outside the country.

Students moving off campus will be asked to fill out a similar Mail Forwarding form online and their mail will be forwarded for approximately three months to the address submitted.

Please remember that only USPS packages can be forwarded. All UPS, FED EX, DHL, etc. will be returned to sender.
