Program Curriculum

  • Course Requirements

TCMC0215 Introduction to MEP: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems are the backbone of a building. Without these systems we would not have a comfortable environment, water or be able to use our electronic equipment, in essence MEP systems provide us with the modern world. This course will provide the students with the required knowledge to manage HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection subcontractors from an engineering and field supervision perspective.

TCMC0225 Building Energy Efficiency & HVAC Systems: Energy conservation (First Law of Thermodynamics) and its utilization to building energy requirements including calculations/estimations of heating and cooling loads, and annual heating energy requirements (HDD). Property of moist air using Psychrometric Chart, fundamental principles of air conditioning, followed by an overview of common building Heating, and Air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment, along with energy-related components and controls.

TFMC0250 Understanding Building Automation Systems (UBAS) Prepares students for the most significant changes in today’s management of the built environment and the demands of efficient energy use. UBAS provides an opportunity to revolutionize the way organizations manage their facilities, not only for significant energy reduction but also for greater coordination and oversight of day to day operations. This course will prepare you to more fully understand the potential and value of a well-designed and properly managed Energy Management System.
