Community Engagement

Immersive Experiences in Communities Near and Far

At Wentworth, community engagement involves projects and programs that build capacity and offer services addressing neighborhood needs and solving community challenges – in partnership with the communities themselves. Wentworth students, staff, and faculty engage with communities through hands-on projects that benefit all stakeholders and produce reciprocal partnerships.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB)

ASB brings students from different majors together to work on a community-based project. Recent ASB assignments include working with Habitat for Humanity in Boston, helping the homeless in San Diego, and preparing meals for people battling HIV/AIDS in Washington, DC. Learn more about Alternative Spring Break.

Co+build

This program gives Wentworth students the chance not just to participate in a hands-on project but also become connected to the local neighborhoods and work with their residents to address the needs of the community. Learn more about Co+build.

Community Work-Study

With 100+ students participating every year, this federally funded program allows students to gain real-world experience and receive financial assistance by working with local non-profit organizations. Learn more about Community Work-Study.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

VITA trains students to prepare income taxes for low-income residents in the community as a free service. Learn more about VITA.
