Endowed Scholarships Application and Institutional Scholarships

Overview

Each year Wentworth welcomes applications to our Endowed Scholarship program.  The Endowed Scholarship program is funded by generous donors to assist Wentworth students in pursuing their education.  The Endowed Scholarship program is open to currently enrolled Undergraduate, Graduate, and Continuing and Professional Education students.

Applications will be open from February 14th, 2020 through midnight June 14th, 2020.

Wentworth students who wish to apply must:

  • Complete and submit their General Application in our application portal, AcademicWorks at wit.academicworks.com and sign in using their WIT username and password.
  • Have completed their first year of study at Wentworth.
  • Have completed their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2020-2021 school year.

Students may log into the application portal, AcademicWorks, at any time to check the status of their application.  All questions on the general application must be answered, and the submit button must be clicked at the bottom of the application to submit.  Applicants who do not fully complete their general application by the June 14th, 2020 deadline will be disqualified from consideration of the awards.  Once their general application is completed, students are automatically matched to open opportunities.  If a student wishes to apply for a specific opportunity, they may do so after completing the general application.

Applications will not be reviewed until after the June 14th, 2020 deadline.  Recipients of awards will be informed via email through the Fall.  Endowed Scholarship awards are applied to the following Spring and Summer semesters: Spring 2021, and Summer 2021.  Scholarships cannot be applied to a Co-Op semester.  If a student has a Co-Op semester during the Spring or Summer of 2021, the entire scholarship award will be applied to the semester the student is enrolled in classes.

Please direct any questions to the scholarship committee at endowscholarships@wit.edu.  Best of luck!

The following Institutional Scholarships are paid toward tuition only.  Therefore, any other scholarships or grants that are also required to be paid toward tuition may reduce the amount of Institutional Scholarship that you receive.  For example, if you are awarded a $5,000 Merit Award Scholarship and are in the Army ROTC program, you will not receive any of the $5,000 Merit Award Scholarship as your tuition would be fully covered by the ROTC scholarship.

Merit Award Scholarship

Wentworth offers merit-based scholarships in addition to need-based aid.  All applicants are automatically considered for Merit Awards - no additional application is necessary.  Merit Scholarships are provided up to $16,000 for the entering class of Fall 2020.  The Merit evaluation is determined by the Admissions Office and begins in mid-January.  The scholarship may be renewed for up to five years, depending on the length of the recipient’s bachelor’s degree program. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 classroom credits) and maintain a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA. Graduate students are not eligible for the Merit award scholarship.

Wentworth Community Scholarship

Eligibility for this scholarship is determined by Wentworth’s Community Scholarship Committee.  It is open to returning students who show a significant commitment to the Wentworth Community through involvement in social, administrative, charitable and athletic activities. An eligible student must have completed four semesters and been enrolled full-time while maintaining an institutional cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Interested students should apply using the Endowed Scholarship application. Recipients must re-apply every year. Maximum award: $2,500.

Boston Resident Scholarship - For Current High School Seniors

Wentworth is committed to the Boston community and its students.  We offer Boston Resident Scholarships to current high school seniors who are Boston residents and have been accepted to the University.  This is a 4-year, full tuition scholarship after federal, state and Wentworth funding is awarded.  Scholarship selection is based on a variety of factors including academics, leadership, school and community involvement as well as financial need.  Applicants must apply for federal financial aid by completing the FAFSA form to be eligible.  Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 at Wentworth for the scholarship to be renewed each year.  An application is required to be considered for the Boston Resident Scholarship.  The deadline to apply is March 16th, 2018.  Please contact Armida Bertino at bertinoa@wit.edu or (617) 989-4846 if you have any questions.
