ImpactLab At-a-Glance

Audience: Rising 11th and 12th graders in high school. Open to both domestic and international students. 

Session One: July 7 - July 19, 2024

Session Two: July 21 - August 2, 2024

Program Type: Residential/Overnight Program 

Tuition Costs: $3,495 for one two-week session or a discounted rate of $6,495 for both two-week sessions.

Our step-by-step application process is easy.

  • Visit our application portal and follow the instructions to begin. 
  • Complete your application and have your school email us your unofficial transcript at precollege@wit.edu
  • Hit submit. There is no fee to apply!

Our course offerings for Summer 2024 are available. All of our courses sample our five schools here at Wentworth and provide students with a strong hands-on learning experience.

FAQs—The ImpactLab Experience

  • Where will the program/courses take place?

    In the state-of-the-art labs and classrooms of our Boston campus. Our neighbors include MassArt, Northeastern University, the Museum of Fine Arts, and Fenway Park. 

  • Will there be tests or exams?

    No-no quizzes, tests, or homework. ImpactLab is all about exploration. Each course will have some lectures but will focus primarily on hands-on experiences with extensive project work. 

  • Is ImpactLab open to international students?

    Yes! International high school students heading into their equivalent junior or senior year are encouraged to apply to ImpactLab. The application process is the same for all students interested in ImpactLab. In addition to the application, we ask all international applicants whose first language is not English or who are educated outside of the U.S. in a non-English speaking secondary school (high school) are required to show proof of English proficiency to meet our English requirement.

  • Is this a residential program?

    Yes, we wanted you to be able to try a true college experience on for size, so we have arranged for you to stay in Wentworth's residence halls. 

  • Who will I be working with?

    You will work closely with your peers in the program, with Wentworth undergraduates, and with full-time and adjunct Wentworth faculty. 

  • Will I have fun? Are their social activities?

    ImpactLab will be stimulating, fun, and action-packed. Each course is centered around hands-on projects and field trips. The program also offers a wide array of social activities on and off-campus. 

  • What does a typical day look like at ImpactLab? 

    Here is a schedule of what a typical day looks like in the program. 

    • 7:30/8:00 AM - Breakfast 
    • 9:00 AM - Course Time (Built in Lab & Project Work) 
    • 12:00 PM - Lunch 
    • 1:00 PM - Course Time (Built in Lab & Project Work) 
    • 4:30 PM - Optional Activites & Recreation 
    • 5:30 PM - Dinner 
    • 7:00 PM - Evening Activities & Recreation 
    • 10:00 PM - Residence Hall Check-In 

    The weekend will include both programming on campus and a variety of field trips around the city. 

  • Is there tuition assistance for ImpactLab?

    At this time, ImpactLab offers a limited number of partial tuition assistance scholarships that are awarded based on a family's demonstrated financial need, a student's academic achievement, promise, and availability of funds.   • If I have a friend attending ImpactLab, could I request them as a roommate?

    Our housing and roommate selection will be based on the housing survey participants will complete prior to the start of their session. If you have a friend attending ImpactLab, we need both students to indicate they would like to be roomed together. Both students in the program will need to submit the request to us at precollege@wit.edu

  • What day should my flight/train arrive for the program and when should I plan to depart the program? 

    Orientation and Move-in for the programs will take place on the following dates. 

    • Sunday, July 7, 2024, for Session I 
    • Sunday, July 21, 2024, for Session II 
    • Students attending both sessions will attend the July 7th Orientation and Move-In at the start of Session I. 

    Closing Day for the programs will take place on the following dates. 

    • Friday, July 19, 2024, for Session I
    • Friday, August 2, 2024, for Session II 
    • All students are expected to move out by 2:00 PM (Eastern time) on the scheduled closing days for the programs. 

    Please note if a student is looking to arrange a shuttle service/ transportation to and from campus to Logan, they must contact our office before finalizing their flight details. Please email our office at precollege@wit.edu
