2014-15 NAWIC Scholarship - Application due March 3rd
The National Association of Women in Construction 2014-15 scholarship is for both men and women who are full-time student and enrolled as degree candidates in a construction-related, construction-management, architecture, civil, mechanical, structural or electrical engineering program. Awards amounts range from $500 to $2,500.
Applications must be postmarked by March 3rd of each year to qualify for competition.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United Sates and must have a least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors are not eligible.
- Applicant must desire a career in a construction-related field.
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time.
- Applicant must have a current cumulative GPA or 3.0 or higher to be considered for awards.
2014 Reading Scholarship - Application due March 7th
Eligible applicants include:
- Any Reading resident who is currently a high school senior, OR is pursuing an undergraduate degree.
- Any non-Reading resident who is a senior at Reading Memorial High School AND has been enrolled as a full-time student for a period of at least three years.
How to Apply
All applicants must complete the required forms, provide necessary information and meet the established deadlines. Applicants, who do not comply, will be disqualified. Should an applicant be disqualified, notification is made by mail. Mail the completed Application no later than Friday, March 7, 2014.
All high school seniors and college transfer students will receive an Application Supplement from Reading Scholarship Foundation, Inc. These applicants are required to complete and return the Supplement by the date on the form.

New England Regional Carpenters Scholarship - Application due April 11th
Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 New England Regional Council Scholarship Program. Last year 106 students applied and a total of $52,000 was awarded, including the top prize scholarship of $5,000.
To be considered for an award, a completed application package must be received by 5:00 pm on April 11, 2014.
Applicants are required to write an essay of between 500 and 1000 words on the topic below. Note: Essays that do not meet the word count criterion will be disqualified. If you use outside references or sources please cite them.
Union workers at Boeing Co. in Seattle recently voted on a proposed contract that eliminated their pension plans in exchange for guarantees of future jobs. What are your thoughts on this controversy vis-à-vis the role of the company and the role of the unions? If you were a union member there, how would you have voted and why?
To eliminate bias, the scholarship committee is blind to the identity of the applicant. Essays are numerically coded to prevent any reader from having knowledge of the writer. Winners of the top two prizes will be asked to read their essays at the June 2014 delegate meeting. Persons awarded first or second place in a prior year are ineligible for first or second place in subsequent years.

1. Log into LConnect.
2. Click on “Leopard Web”.
3. Click on the “Financial Aid” tab at the top of the screen.
4. Click “WIT Endowed Scholarship Application”.
5. Complete your General Application no later than 10/15/13

Penny Stocks Lab Inaugural Scholarship Contest
Penny Stocks Lab is proud to announce our inaugural undergraduate scholarship contest. Our annual scholarship contest provides $1,000 cash prize to the winner of an essay contest. This year’s scholarship contest requires students to respond to the prompt written below in a thoughtful, well-crafted short essay of 1,000 words or less. We encourage any student with an interest in finance or investing to enter for a chance to support their education with our $1,000 scholarship.

-the applicant is a woman

-she has not received a scholarship from ABWA Cape Cod in the past
