Housing Accommodations
Full-time students who wish to live in housing, are in good academic, judicial, and financial standing with the Institute, have paid the housing deposit, and have needs that may necessitate a housing accommodation may request accommodations by going through the Housing Accommodations process. Students must submit a request to the Office of Housing & Residential Life stating what accommodations they are seeking and must have medical documentation supporting the request. Students must reapply for accommodations each time that they are going through the housing selection or assignment process. For more information please visit the Housing Accommodations page.Meal Plans
Wentworth offers its upper-class students three meal plan options:
- Meal Plan A- $2,990 per academic year
- Meal Plan B- $1,390 per academic year
- Meal Plan C- $790 per academic year
Returning students or Transfers that reside in 555, 610, Edwards/Rogers, Louis Prang/Vancouver will automatically be given the Meal Plan C unless otherwise noted on their Housing Agreement Form. Meal plans are split equally between the two semesters. Any money leftover from the Fall semester will be added to the Spring semester balance. However, money left unused after the Spring semester will no longer be available to the student and will not be refunded in any way.
To increase your meal plan you must first become financially cleared by the Student Service Center. Visit the SSC on the first floor of Wentworth Hall, or call 617.989.4020. After becoming cleared, email housing@wit.edu with your intentions to increase your meal plan. Typically, OHRL will not increase meal plans after the first four weeks of the semester. To decrease your meal plan, email housing@wit.edu with your request within the first month of the semester.
All Freshman and residents of Baker Hall or Evans Way Tudbury are required to have Meal Plan A. Any requests to alter the meal plan will be denied.
Wet Suite Registration Process
Coming September 2013
The Wet Suite Registration allows students of legal drinking age to possess a limited amount of beer or wine in their living space. Registered Wet Suites are not allowed to have hard alcohol as hard alcohol is not permitted anywhere on campus.
In registered Wet Suites each resident is permitted to have one of the following:
- 6 beers
- 6 prepackaged/premeasured beverages such as “Mikes Hard Lemonade”
- 1 1.5 liter bottle of wine
In order to become a registered Wet Suite students must meet the following criteria:
- Must live in 555, 610, or the Apartments area
- All residents of the suite or apartment must be at least 21 years of age
- All residents must review the Wet Suite Powerpoint presentation
- Successfully complete the Wet Suite Quiz (80%)
Students who meet these criteria will receive a Registered Wet Suite certificate that must be posted on the inside of the suite/apartment door at all times. Students will receive an email when all members of suite/apartment have completed the process and certificate is ready for pick-up. Certificates can be picked up at the Office of Housing & Residential Life during business hours.
Wet Suite Certificates are good for one (1) academic year (Fall/Spring/Summer) as long as no new residents move into the suite/apartment. If a new resident moves into a suite/apartment, that suite/apartment is no longer a Wet Suite until the new resident completes the steps above and the suite/apartment receives a new Wet Suite certificate.
All students must be in compliance with the Institute’s alcohol policy at all times. Failure to adhere to the alcohol policy will result in disciplinary action that may include loss of Wet Suite privileges.
