Can I arrive early for or stay late after New Student Orientation?

Yes, there is a possibility to arrive early or stay late before/after New Student Orientation (NSO).

For those needing accommodations the night before Orientation (Pre-Night) or at the end of Day 2 Orientation (Post-Night), space is available in one of our Residence Halls. There is no cost for staying an extra night on campus, however there are restrictions on times you can enter/exit the building and there is a strict no-guest policy.

If you require overnight accommodations the night before your first day of NSO, and/or the night after your second day of NSO please follow the instructions below:

To reserve space for early arrival or late stay housing, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at newstudentprograms@wit.edu or 617-989-4639 and have your W#, a phone number where you can be reached, and your arrival date and estimated time of arrival available.

Students can arrive after 2:00PM on the day before NSO, and will need to go directly to Baker Hall for check-in.

If you plan to stay the night after NSO, please include your estimated time of departure in your e-mail. Please note that NSO ends before noon, therefore late stay requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If you need accommodations the night before NSO or the night after NSO and prefer not to stay in our residence hall, you can also make a reservation at one of the hotels located close to campus. Please click here for a listing of accommodations close to campus.

Is New Student Orientation required?

Yes, New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all incoming first year students. NSO is your opportunity to learn about everything you need to do over the summer to have a smooth transition into Wentworth.  You will get to meet your professors, your new classmates and spend a night in the residence halls. NSO is an exciting time which brings the entire Wentworth community together.

Transfer and international students should not attend an NSO session.

For students who live at a significant distance, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at 617-989-4639 or newstudentprograms@wit.edu to arrange for an alternate orientation experience.

Can I change my NSO registration to a different session?

Yes, you can change your NSO registration to a different session as long as the session you are looking to register for has not already reached capacity.  Prior to June 10, log into the registration database  and select which NSO you would like to attend.  Your old registration will be erased once the new one is complete.

To log-in please use your LConnect username and the password "orientation".

If it is after June 10, please contact the Office of Student Programs office at newstudentprograms@wit.edu or 617-989-4639. Please leave a message including your name, W#, date you registered for, date you wish to attend, and a phone number; we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind that we have a limit on the number of students who can attend each New Student Orientation. Therefore, if you know that you will not be attending a certain NSO session, please change your registration as soon as possible.
