Boot Camp, Super Bowl Party, and More
The end of January and beginning of February are promising to be active times for members of the Wentworth community. Below is a sampling of what is taking place on or around campus over the next several days.
Accelerate Bootcamp 2
Learn about innovation + entrepreneurship, but also get inspired about new ideas and connections, and how to identify ideas, and how to move ideas into reality. Topics include: from idea to lean startup; startup lessons learned; insights for better idea development; consumer insights + market research; “how we did it”; and making money + selling products/services.
The event takes place on February 4 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Accelerate, Innovation + Entrepreneurship Center.
Super Bowl Party
Students are invited to watch the big game on an extra-big screen in the Evans Way Tudbury Auditorium, courtesy of Weekends @ WIT. The party starts at 6:00 p.m. on February 2 with game kickoff scheduled for 6:30. Email email@example.com with questions.
The Eros of Oral History
Colleges of the Fenway is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeff Friedman as the Allen Smith Visiting Scholar for 2013-2014. Friedman is a distinguished dancer, choreographer, and educator and researcher in oral history theory, method, and practice in the performing arts field.
"The Eros of Oral History" lecture and performance will be featured at 8:00 p.m. on January 31 at Alumnae Hall, Simmons College in partnership with the Boston Conservatory. The free event will feature a lecture about oral history in the performing arts discipline, including production of new primary source materials, such as recorded interviews, textual interpretations, as well as a performance from Friedman's dance-based solo work titled Muscle Memory. All members of the Colleges of the Fenway, including Wentworth, are invited to attend.
Join the Wentworth community on February 4 for a tribute to Nelson Mandela. The event will explore the life and times of the South African leader by screening a documentary that explores his struggles and triumphs. A discussion will be held immediately after the screening. The event will be held in Blount Auditorium between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.
Make Your Own Valentine Card
Wentworth’s Commuter Connection invites students to make their own Valentine’s Day cards and enjoy some candy at the same time. Stop by the Flanagan Center Lobby between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. on February 6.
