Google’s Director of Global Design Christopher Coleman to Deliver Spring Commencement Address
Boston, MA—April 17, 2013—Wentworth Institute of Technology today announced that Christopher Coleman, Director of Global Design for Google Inc. and an architectural engineering technology alumnus from the class of 1981, will be the commencement speaker for the Spring Commencement on May 5.

Nearly 200 undergraduate and graduate students will earn Bachelor of Science, Master of Architecture, Master of Science, or Associate in Applied Science degrees. In addition, Wentworth will present honorary Bachelor of Technology degrees to alumni from the Class of 1963 in recognition and celebration of their 50th class reunion and induction into the Wentworth Black and Gold Society.
Christopher Coleman is a recognized leader in real estate, design, project management, and operations, with a proven track record for delivering innovative and cost effective solutions across a wide range of complex projects. He has more than 28 years of global experience in the media and technology sectors.
Mr. Coleman is currently the Director of Global Design at Google and has held various positions, including Director of Global Real Estate.
As a real estate executive with Google for the past 10 years, Mr. Coleman has strategically planned, leased, designed, and built offices in more than 50 cities, including Tokyo, Shanghai, Hyderabad, Moscow, Zurich, Dublin, London, Buenos Aires, Tel Aviv, New York, and Mountain View.
Prior to Google, Mr. Coleman worked for 12 years, beginning in 1988, at CNN and Turner Broadcasting in various roles, including real estate, graphic design, set design, and operations. He managed the design and construction of new networks–CNN International, CNN En Espanol and CNN Financial News, while master-planning and renovating CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta.
He also designed broadcast sets in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., New York, London, and Hong Kong.
Mr. Coleman graduated with an associate degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth in 1981 and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1985.
Mr. Coleman will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering Technology degree as part of the commencement ceremony.
