Wentworth to Launch Two Online Programs in Fall 2013

Addresses Needs of Adult Learners and Expands Access to Lifelong Learning

Boston, MA – February 19, 2013 – Wentworth Institute of Technology’s College of Professional and Continuing Education announced that the Master of Science in Construction Management and the Bachelor of Science in Project Management programs will be offered in a fully online format beginning in Fall 2013. These are the first two programs at Wentworth to be offered using an online delivery model and they respond to the increasing demand for and acceptance of online programming in the market.

“This is one great example of how we can better serve the needs of adult learners and bring our high-quality, sought after programs to a wider audience,” said Larry Carr, dean of the College of Professional and Continuing Education. “It’s an exciting opportunity for adult learners as they now have the flexibility to enroll in programs that fit into their busy professional and personal lives.”

The online programs will have an emphasis on peer-to-peer learning through virtual discussion groups, and the rigor of the online curriculum will be consistent with the classroom instruction model.

In addition to the online format for the Bachelor of Science in Project Management and the Master of Science in Construction Management, the programs will also continue to be offered in their current hybrid and on-campus formats. Both online degree programs have been approved by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
