Commissioner Carole Cornelison to Deliver Commencement Address
Wentworth Institute of Technology Commencement

Nearly 200 undergraduate and graduate students will earn Bachelor of Science, Master of Architecture, Master of Science, or Associate in Applied Science degrees. In addition, Wentworth will present honorary Bachelor of Technology degrees to alumni from the Class of 1962 in recognition and celebration of their 50th class reunion and induction into the Wentworth Black and Gold Society.
Ms. Carole Cornelison is commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was appointed to her position by cabinet secretary Jay Gonzalez after having served as superintendent of the Bureau of State Office Buildings for nearly three years.
Ms. Cornelison has more than 30 years of management and supervisory experience in public and private sector organizations, including ten plus years in the neighborhood revitalization and facilities management arena. She presents a wealth of techniques and strategies for maintaining the construction of facilities while strengthening efforts to establish a consolidated management and maintenance regime for the state’s considerable capital assets.
Prior to state service, she worked with the City of Boston as the deputy director of Neighborhood Housing Development. In that role and as deputy director of Homeowners Services, she managed multi-million dollar housing development budgets; ensured projects complied with complex local, state, and federal regulations; and negotiated several successful partnerships with the financial community, non-profit and private contractors, elected and appointed officials, and community leaders.
