Program: MS in Construction Management
Employer: Boston University
Job Title: Assistant Designer
Resides: East Bridgewater, MA
How does the MS in Construction Management program tie into your career goals?
I earned my undergraduate degree in interior design from Wentworth. During my undergraduate years I did two co-ops that were focused in facility management, but I saw that there was overlap with construction management in that field, which I gravitated towards. I want to do project management work in construction and I believe the combination of my interior design and facility management background, combined with the MS in construction management, will give me an edge in the job market.
Do you find that the master’s degree program is flexible for working adults?
It definitely is and besides the strong reputation of Wentworth, the flexibility the program provides was a key reason I chose to enroll. I’m able to continue working full-time to gain relevant experience and the evening courses, combined with hybrid delivery, makes the long commute bearable for me.
Are you happy that you chose to enroll in the program?
Yes. I’m learning so much and I’m gaining an understanding of the industry that I never was aware of before enrolling. This industry knowledge is benefiting me on a daily basis on the job, which is great.
