Civil Engineering Students Helping the Travis Roy Foundation

The civil engineering department has been working with the Travis Roy Foundation and the owner of the Bedford Bay Sox baseball team to develop some improvements to a series of whiffle ball fields in Essex, Vermont that are used to raise funds for the Travis Roy Foundation, and other charity organizations. Early in July a team of students spent two days building a reviewing platform for spectators at the whiffle ball tournaments.

A return trip in late August focused on finishing the viewing stand and on installing the drainage function, including the construction of an expanded wetland on the site for improved surface water management.
