A Written Personal Statement
All applicants are required to submit a personal statement or essay as part of their application. This essay (250 to 500 words) is your opportunity to tell us what you would like us to know about you that grades and test score won't necessarily reveal. For example, you may want to tell us about the impact of an after-school job, the influence of a favorite teacher, or how you dealt with an unexpected situation. Additionally, you may want to submit an activities page or a resume.
Letter of Recommendation
A letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor required. Additional recommendations from teachers, employers, or coaches are optional. Please make sure you provide our address and phone number to all organizations and individuals who are providing information for your application:
Official Transcripts of Secondary Education
These documents must bear an official signature, in ink, of the appropriate official of your school, such as the registrar or recorder of records. They must also bear the institution's seal. If the institution will not mail the original academic documents to the United States, exact copies, which have been certified as such by the appropriate official of each school attended, may be sent. If the documents are in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by official English translations. International transfer students must also submit the College Transfer Report (also known as the College Official's Report).
Official Transcripts of Post-Secondary Education from each Post-Secondary School Attended
These records should indicate the number of lecture and/or laboratory hours per week and the grade received for each course. To be evaluated for transfer credits, a catalog or syllabus form each post-secondary school attended (containing course descriptions) must also be submitted. If the documents are in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by the official English translations.
All applicants for whom English is not a first language must show proof of English proficiency. Please see the English Proficiency Requirements.
Please note that official results of the TOEFL must be sent directly to Wentworth through the Educational Testing Service (ETS) or the College Board.Wentworth's school code is 3958. If you choose to take the IELTS exam official results must be sent to the school. Photocopies are not acceptable.
Declaration and Certification of Finances
International applicants must complete the Financial Information Form AND document their ability to meet all educational and personal expenses. Wentworth is required by the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Services to verify the financial resources of students prior to issuing a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20). Although students are permitted to work on campus during the academic year, they should not expect employment to be a significant means of support while attending Wentworth Institute of Technology. Financial assistance is not available to international students.

- Students must provide proof of funding for at least the equivalent to USD $54,948 for residential students and USD $56,169 for commuter students. We will not accept photocopies or faxes of financial documentation.
